Danner, Roman Collect Second Team All-DAC Honors

DALLAS – Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball's Jovan Danner and Jeremy Roman received Second Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors.

A sophomore guard from Caddo Mills, Texas, Danner led the Bears in scoring (13.8 points per game) while shooting 54.9 percent from the floor and 86 percent at the free throw line. He grabbed 4.9 rebounds, and averaged 1.2 steals per game. Danner went on a tear in the second half of the season, scoring a career-high 36 points in a two-point win at Dallas College Cedar Valley to begin February. He scored in double figures in 10 of the last 11 games, topping 20 points in seven.

A sophomore forward from Porter, Texas, Roman averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 46.9 percent from the field and 71.7 percent from the free throw line. Roman scored in double figures in 13 of 14 games in the last half of the season. He had 20 or more points in six games. He hit the gamewinning shot with 1.1 seconds left to knock off top seed Dallas College Richland in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District semifinals to send the Bears to the first championship in program history under nine-year head coach Chris McGill.
