Four Bears Earn All-DAC Honors
DALLAS – Dallas College Brookhaven Volleyball's Brooke Tyler was named the Dallas Athletic Conference co-Setter of the Year.
Tyler joined middle blocker Holland Hickman and outside hitter McKenzie Mitchell as First Team All-DAC selections. Middle blocker Mary Amick was a Second Team All-DAC honoree.
Tyler led the DAC in assists with 928, which ranked sixth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III. She had 50 or more assists in six matches. She was tied for the team lead with 40 aces.
Hickman had 211 kills, 105 blocks and 27 aces. She lead the conference in blocks, and was tied for seventh nationally. She had nine blocks against Labette Community College.
Mitchell led the Bears with 317 kills and 40 aces, and had 354 digs. She had 23 kills at Dallas College Mountain View.
Amick had 173 kills, 202 digs and 14 aces. She had 17 kills in the South District semifinal win over Dallas College Richland.
Brookhaven (15-12) will meet Hudson Valley Community College next Thursday at 11 a.m. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
