Bears Headline All-DAC Volleyball Team

Dallas College Brookhaven's Ariel Austin was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player.

Brookhaven teammate Jadyn Ketner was selected as the Libero of the Year, Cearria Traylor the Blocker of the Year, and Jason Hopkins the league Coach of the Year.

Brookhaven finished third at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Championships, capping the season with a 25-10 record. The Bears went 10-0 to win the DAC regular season championship before claiming the NJCAA DIII Southwest District title.

Austin and Ketner were First Team All-DAC selections. Traylor and outside hitter Kelsey Trevino received Second Team honors, and Camryn Dawley was an honorable mention pick.

Austin was second in the nation in kills (516), and was second on the team in digs (467). She had 67 blocks and 39 service aces. Austin was named to the NJCAA DIII All-Tournament Team.

Ketner was second in the country in digs (697). She had 58 aces, and averaged 5.53 digs per set.

Traylor led NJCAA DIII in total blocks (167), and was fifth in blocks per set (1.35). She had 233 kills. Trevino had 306 kills, 28 aces, 419 digs and 49 blocks.

Dawley had a team-best 734 assists and 72 aces, and racked up 405 digs.
