Brookhaven to Host NJCAA Southwest District Championships Wednesday-Saturday
Dallas College Brookhaven will host the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Southwest District Championships Wednesday-Saturday.
The No. 5-ranked Bears (21-9, 10-0 Dallas Athletic Conference) won the league regular season title, and earned the top seed and a first round bye into the semifinals. Dallas College Cedar Valley (13-20, 6-4) finished second in the DAC, and also earned a first round bye.
Dallas College Richland (9-27, 5-5) is the No. 3 seed, and will meet Dallas College North Lake (6-23, 2-8) in Wednesday's 5:30 p.m. quarterfinals. No. 4 seed Dallas College Mountain View (12-20, 5-5) will play No. 5 seed Dallas College Eastfield (8-18, 2-8) in the other quarterfinal 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Brookhaven will meet the lowest remaining seed in Friday's 5:30 p.m. semifinal. Cedar Valley will meet the highest remaining seed in the 7:30 p.m. semifinal.
The championship match is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, and will be streamed live on TSRN Sports Network.
Ticket prices are as follows: $10 for a tournament pass (good for all matches), $5 adults single session (2 matches), $3 children 6-18. Children under 6 are free, as are Dallas College students, staff and administrators with an active ID (must present at gate). Tournament programs will be sold for $2.
Brookhaven won last year's Dallas Athletic Conference Region V Championship.
