Stewart Named First Team Scholar All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer's Emma Stewart received United Soccer Coaches Junior College First Team Scholar All-American recognition.
A sophomore midfielder from Arlington, Texas, Stewart had a 4.0 grade point average. She is pursuing a nursing degree.
On the field, Stewart had six goals and four assists for 16 points. She scored two gamewinning goals. She had two goals and an assist in a shutout win over Dallas College Mountain View in late September. Stewart had a goal and an assist in a shutout win over Dallas College Richland in mid-September. She had a goal and an assist in a shutout win over Mountain View in October.
Stewart played in all 20 games, starting 17 as the Bears went 16-2-2, finishing as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III national runner-up.
The United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America teams are a combination of all three NJCAA divisions. A Junior College Scholar All-American must be a sophomore in athletic standing, have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, play in a minimum of 75 percent of all the team's games and be an elite player as supported by playing honors, such as collecting all-conference honors, and contributions to the team.
Stewart was a First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference selection.
