Bears Collect DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven's Justine Garnica was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Teammate Miranda Estrada was named the DAC Goalkeeper of the Week.

A freshman midfielder from Grand Prairie, Texas, Garnica had a hat trick and an assist in the No. 2 Bears' 9-0 shutout of Allen Community College in the season opener. She finished with seven points in the game. Garnica scored two goals, and had an assist in the first half. 

A freshman from The Colony, Texas, Estrada made one save, playing 60 minutes in the shutout. She shared the clean sheet with Harlee VanPelt, who played the final 10 minutes.

The Bears host Western Texas College 4 p.m. Tuesday.
