Banda Named National Player of Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer's Natalia Banda was selected as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Player of the Week.

A freshman defender from Anna, Texas, Banda had a goal and two assists in No. 2 Brookhaven's pair of shutout victories last week. While playing a key role in the Bears' two shutouts, Banda was a force in the offensive attack. She assisted on Brookhaven's first goal in the 3-0 win over Dallas College North Lake. She also had an Olympico goal on her own corner kick to extend the lead. In the 2-0 victory over No. 8 Dallas College Cedar Valley, she had an assist.

Banda has two goals and four assists this season. She's scored twice on Olympico goals this season.

Brookhaven (7-2-3, 5-0-3 Dallas Athletic Conference) will play at Dallas College Eastfield (4-8-2, 2-4-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.
