Reynolds, Higgins Collect Final DAC Weekly Awards

Dallas College Brookhaven's Kenya Reynolds and Nevaeh Higgins were named the Dallas Athletic Conference women's soccer Players of the Week.

Reynolds, a freshman from The Colony, Texas, recorded her first career hat trick in National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 1 Brookhaven's 9-0 win over Dallas College Eastfield. She scored on all three shots she attempted, becoming the third Bears player to notch a hat trick this season.

Higgins, a freshman from Midlothian, Texas, helped the Bears pitch back-to-back shutouts last week. In addition to the win over Eastfield, Brookhaven blanked Dallas College Mountain View, 5-0, earlier last week. The two shutouts marked the eighth and ninth consecutive clean sheets for the Bears.

Brookhaven (11-0-1) will meet the lowest remaining seed in the NJCAA Mid-South District Tournament semifinals scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday.
