USC College Player of Week

Dallas College Brookhaven women's soccer's Bailey Clark was named the United Soccer Coaches College Player of the Week for the junior college women's category.

It is the second straight week a Bears player has collected the award after Whitni Newbill received the honor last week.

Clark, a defender from Corinth, Texas, recorded her first career assist, and helped the Bears record their fifth and sixth straight shutouts of the season in a pair of wins last week. She played a role in National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 1-ranked Bears' 1-0 win at No. 4 Dallas College Richland. She also helped Brookhaven shut out Dallas College North Lake, 3-0, while recording an assist in the 70th minute to extend the lead to two goals.

Clark, who prepped at Lake Dallas High School, has been part of eight shutouts this season, including a stretch of seven in a row.

The Bears play at Dallas College Mountain View in the penultimate game of the regular season. Brookhaven will host Dallas College Eastfield 6 p.m. Tuesday on Sophomore Night.
