Brookhaven Ends Regular Season with Win over Mountain View
FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team beat Dallas College Mountain View 98-82 Saturday to conclude the regular season.
The Bears (12-18, 6-9 Dallas Athletic Conference) finished fourth in the league, and will play Dallas College Cedar Valley (5-22) in Wednesday's 7 p.m. National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District quarterfinals at Dallas College North Lake.
Brookhaven shot 54 percent, going 34 of 63 from the field, against the Lions (6-23, 1-14). The Bears were 8 of 15 (53.3 percent) from three-point range, and 22 for 30 (73.3 percent) from the free throw line. Mountain View hit 45.7 percent of its field goals, going 32 of 70. The Lions were 10 of 33 (30.3 percent) from long distance and 8 for 15 (53.3 percent) at the free throw line.
Jovan Danner had 29 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for the Bears. He was 9 for 10 at the free throw line. Anshuman Deora had 19 points, five rebounds and four assists. He hit seven of 10 field goals. Jeremy Roman scored 15 points, and had eight rebounds and four assists. Carson Farnsley knocked down five of seven 3-pointers to finish with 15 points. Brandon Webber had 13 points.
Trailing by eight at halftime, Brookhaven outscored Mountain View 60-36 in the second half.
Kaden Richardson had 18 points and three steals, and Anthony Cook 17 points and nine rebounds for the Lions. Jordan Ross scored 11 points, and Parker Overstreet had 10 points and five rebounds.
Tyler Targonski had a season-high nine assists, and the Bears finished with a season-best 27. Luke Archibald added six assists.
