Brookhaven Meets Mountain View 8 p.m. Tuesday in District Quarters

NJCAA DIII South Central District Tournament Central

Dallas College Brookhaven men's basketball team will play Dallas College Mountain View in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District quarterfinals 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dallas College Eastfield.

The Bears (9-17) split with the Lions (17-12) during the regular season. Brookhaven beat Mountain View, 98-81, on the road Feb. 8. The Bears lost to the Lions, 90-89, at home Wednesday.

Curtis Trey Moffett leads the Bears in scoring (16.4), and is shooting 51 percent from the field. He is averaging 5.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals. Aaron Ovalle is averaging 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals, while shooting 90.6 percent from the free throw line. Ryan Nurenberg is scoring 14 points per game, and averaging 4.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and one steal per game. He is shooting 54 percent from the floor.

Jackson Lino is averaging 13.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks, and is shooting 57 percent from the field. Andre Mancilla is averaging 9.4 points and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting 52 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the free throw stripe. Jesse Klein is averaging 9.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and just under one block per game. He is a 90 percent free throw shooter. Dirk Falkenhagen is averaging 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds, and is shooting 56.6 percent from the field.

Brookhaven lost to Mountain View, 75-74, in last year's district quarterfinals.

Tickets are $10 for a tournament pass for all games, $5 for adult single session of two games and $3 for students ages 6-18. Children under 6 are free. Dallas College students and employees with a current ID (must present at the gate) are free. Game programs are $2.
