Mixon Named DAC Pitcher of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven's Clayten Mixon was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

A sophomore right-hander from Baytown, Texas, Mixon went the distance in a 3-2 win over State Fair Community College Friday. He struck out a career-high 12 batters, and allowed two runs, five hits and two walks over seven innings.

Mixon improved to 1-1 with a 2.11 earned run average and 22 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings this season.

Brookhaven (3-8) plays at Murray State College 1 p.m. Wednesday before beginning a three-game series at Alvin College Friday.
