Brookhaven Baseball Opens Season Jan. 27

DALLAS COLLEGE BROOKHAVEN BASEBALL SCHEDULE

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven will open the 2023 baseball season Jan. 27 at Paris Junior College.

The Bears, who went 24-20 overall, 14-16 in the Dallas Athletic Conference last season, will return home the following day for a doubleheader beginning at noon against the same Paris squad in the home opener.

Brookhaven will play 25 of its 50 regular season games at home this year. The Bears open the first full month of the season with a three-game series at home against Johnson County Community College Feb. 2-3. Following road trips to Cisco College and Murray State College Feb. 4 and Feb. 7, Brookhaven will host Dallas Fort Worth Post Grad Feb. 15 before heading South to compete in the Island Tournament against the likes of Alvin Community College and Costal Bend College in Alvin, Texas and Galveston, Texas on Feb. 17-18.

The Bears will host Seminole State College (Oklahoma) Feb. 20 before beginning DAC play at Dallas College Richland Feb. 22. Brookhaven's league home opener is Feb. 24 when Richland visits Farmers Branch on back-to-back days to complete the first of two alternating site series matchups.

Each of the six Dallas Athletic Conference schools will play two three-game series against the other five Dallas College opponents, with the first game at one school's home field before flipping to play the next two games at the other's home venue with a scheduled day off in between. Start times for the DAC series are uniformly set for Wednesdays, Friday and Saturdays at noon.

Following a nonconference matchup Feb. 27 against Wharton County Junior College in Bryan, Texas, the Bears will return to league play March 1 at home for the beginning of a three-game set with Dallas College North Lake. Brookhaven hosts TCS Post Grad March 6, and will finish the home-and-home series against the same team on the road March 20. After the first encounter with TCS Post Grad, the Bears host Dallas College Mountain View March 8 before travelling to its counterpart's home venue March 10-11. The Bears will host DFW Post Grad again March 13.

Brookhaven meets last year's DAC champion Dallas College Eastfield on the road March 22 before hosting the Harvester Bees March 24-25. The Bears begin their three-game series with Dallas College Cedar Valley March 29 at home before visiting the Suns for the next two games two days later.

The Bears host Richland April 5 in the first of seven home games in April. They will play at Seminole State to wrap up the home-and-home series April 17. Following a three-game series with Mountain View April 19 and April 21-22, Brookhaven hosts Spartan Post Grad in a nonconference contest April 24 prior to returning to league play April 26 to begin a three-game set with Eastfield. The Bears wrap up April with road games against the Harvester Bees April 28-29.

Brookhaven will conclude the regular season May 3 at Cedar Valley and May 5-6 at home against the Suns.
